Draft for legal review
Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 11, 2026
This policy explains what SolarSync collects when you join the waitlist, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it. We keep it short and plain on purpose.
What we collect
When you join the waitlist, you give us:
- Your role. Homeowner, installer or fleet operator, or solar tech.
- Your email address.
- Your ZIP code. We use it to work out your state.
- One quick answer. The inverter brand on your wall, the size of your fleet, or your main credential.
Step two is optional. If you fill it in, we also keep what you choose to share: your name, phone number, company, job title, the systems or credentials you list, and how you heard about us.
We also record a few technical details so we can tell you where you came from:
- Campaign tags from the link you clicked, such as a source, medium or campaign name.
- A referral code if someone's link brought you here, and the code we give you.
- Which version of the page you landed on.
- A one way hash of your network address. We use it to block spam signups. We do not store the address itself.
How we use it
We use your details to tell you when SolarSync opens in your area, to match you with the right service, and to send you the occasional update about your role. A founder reaches out to installer and fleet signups. Homeowners whose system is not producing get priority, because that is the fastest way we can help.
We do not sell your information. We do not rent it. We do not send it to advertisers.
Text messages
We only text you if you tick the box to receive texts. That box starts unticked. When you tick it, we store the moment you did it. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time and we stop. Reply HELP if you need us. You can also text or email support@solarsync.energy to opt out, and we will honour it within ten business days.
Who else sees it
We share your details with the companies that run this site for us: hosting and database, email delivery, and the customer relationship tool our team works in. They handle your information only to do that job for us, and they may not keep it or use it for anything else.
We may also disclose information if we are legally required to, or to protect someone's safety or rights.
How we protect it
The waitlist is not open to the public. No one can browse it from a browser or an app. Only our server functions write to it, and only the founders can read it. Each signup record carries a one way code rather than a usable login key, so a leaked record cannot be edited by accident. We limit access to the smallest number of people who need it.
How long we keep it
We keep your signup while SolarSync is building out your area, and for a short time after, so we can honour a request to be removed. If you ask us to delete your record, we delete it and stop contacting you.
Your choices
Email support@solarsync.energy and ask us to:
- Show you what we hold about you.
- Fix anything that is wrong.
- Delete your record.
- Stop texting or emailing you.
If you live in California or another state with a privacy law, you have the same rights, plus the right to know what we collected and who we shared it with. If you are outside the United States, we process your information on the basis of your consent and our legitimate interest in running this service.
Cookies and analytics
The waitlist itself does not need cookies. It remembers what you typed only for the time you are on the page. If we turn on visit analytics later, we will say so here first and give you a way to opt out.
Children
SolarSync is not for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters to you, we will post the new version here and update the date at the top.
